PowerEdge Rack Enclosure 2410

Dell PowerEdge Rack 2410
Help maximize the overall performance of your DellTM rack-mount servers with this 24U enclosure built to industry standards.
Featuring:
  • Solid, secure construction
  • Simple cooling and cable management
  • Easy access to your equipment

lid, Secure Construction

The PowerEdgeTM Rack 2410 is a 24U server cabinet that meets industry EIA standards and is designed to maximize the overall performance of your Dell rack-mount servers, storage and networking equipment.
Space efficient and durable with a fully-welded frame, the PowerEdge Rack 2410 Features:
  • A static load rating of 1,200 lbs
  • Locking doors and side panels to help prevent unauthorized access to your equipment

Efficient Cooling

The PowerEdge Rack 2410 features passive cooling capabilities with ventilated front and rear doors which help to optimize airflow throughout the enclosure. In certain applications, this can eliminate the need for cooling fans.

Simplified Cable Management

To avoid wasting valuable U space, the 2410 allows you to place power distribution units (PDUs) in the side of the rack.
Cable management is further simplified with:
  • Solid-metal cabling clips in the rear of the cabinet to help keep cables organized and out of the way.
  • Removable side panels

Exceedingly Strong and Secure

Exceedingly Strong and Secure

With a static load rating of 2,500 lbs; the 4220 rack needs no special infrastructure for many installations.

It is available with stabilizer bars to secure the rack to the floor or ‘ganging kits’ to bolt it to adjacent racks.

Lockable doors at the front and rear provide security in a wide range of environments such as data centers, remote offices, wiring closets or even factory floors.

Important New PDU Mounting Features

In addition to U-space power distribution unit (PDU) mounting, the PowerEdge 4220 rack enclosure allows 0U PDUs to be snapped-in on either side or at the back along the doors — no tools necessary. With more space between the back panels of the server and the PDU outlets than previous Dell racks, the PDUs mounted along the rear doors won’t interfere with air circulation.

Made to Stay Cool

The 4220 rack is designed for better airflow with 80% of the front and rear doors perforated. It’s deeper than previous Dell racks (1071mm vs 1000mm), so there’s more space for hot air to move out of the rack. Flexible air dams help keep hot air from moving from the back to the front, a problem common in many racks.

For hot-aisle/cold-aisle thermally efficient datacenter topologies, its footprint matches standard 2-foot floor tile placement to optimize access to cold air.

Made to Stay Cool

Removable Tail-bars

A Bundle of Cable Management Options

The increase in size to 1071mm helps the 4220 rack accommodate servers with deeper dimensions, while still providing space for cable management. The large open base and dual side panels with removable sections on both sides provide more options for cable access.

Removable “tail-bars” at the top and bottom of the back frame eliminate a common obstacle to power and cable routing. The bars can be re-attached after the cables are in place.
Other access features include:
  • Dual rear doors
  • Reversible front door
  • Removable front and rear door
  • Rotating rear castors
  • Easily accessible leveling feet

FlexAddress, The Simple Low Cost Way To Limit Downtime

FlexAddress delivers persistent network and storage identities, equipping your datacenter to handle predictable or even unplanned changes – increase, upgrade, or remove servers without affecting the network. Dell’s patent pending FlexAddress technology allows any M-Series blade enclosure to lock the World Wide Name (WWN) of the Fibre Channel controller and Media Access Control (MAC) of the Ethernet and iSCSI controller into a blade slot, instead of to the blade’s hardware as was done in the past. By removing the network and storage identity from the server hardware, customers are now able to upgrade and replace components or the entire server without changing the identity on the network. FlexAddress can be implemented in four easy steps, just select the slots and fabrics you want FlexAddress to be enabled on and the Chassis Management Controller handles everything from there, no matter what I/O modules you choose. Simple efficient integration, Simplified IT at its best.

Dell Laptop Explodes in Flames

At a conference in Japan, a Dell laptop suddenly exploded into flames, and lucky for its owner the fiery blast occurred while the PC was sitting on a table and not in his lap. An onlooker reported that the notebook continued to burn, producing several more explosions over the course of about five minutes.

The model of the offending Dell notebook wasn't mentioned, but since it was of the Windows persuasion, we can now boast that we are unbiased in our reports of fiery laptops, both Mac and PC. It's only a matter of time before something like this happens on an airplane.
